Bill Golden PhD

Bill Golden is a Senior Consultant at Robinson Ranch Services where he applies his expertise in agricultural economics to ­­­develop business plans for clients seeking to gain revenue from farm and ranch land in Texas.

In addition to his consulting services at Robinson Ranch Services, Bill is on the faculty at Kansas State University in the Department of Agricultural Economics where he assists farmers, policy makers, and other stakeholders throughout Kansas in developing and implementing policies associated with the state’s natural resources. He also works extensively with land-water-related issues such as valuing irrigation water rights. He works with state and local ground water districts, water research programs, USDA agencies, farmers, ranchers, and others interested in the future of natural resource management.   He also manages large tracts of land for several real estate investment trusts in Kansas, Texas, and Mississippi.

Prior to working on the faculty of Kansas State University Bill owned and operated a corn, turf, and rice farming operation on the Gulf Coast of Texas. Bill has extensive experience working with United States Department of Agricultural (USDA) agencies, such as the Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). In addition to his PhD in Economics and Master’s in Ag Business both from Kansas State he also has a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University.  Bill is a third generation Texas farm and rancher.  He values the rural life, currently living on a small acreage in Central Texas where he and his wife Freida raise registered Texas Longhorn cattle.
